Two new shortlines have been added to BNSF Railway’s Shortline Select program.
The program provides members with expanded opportunities to reach an even broader consumer base. Shortlines partner with BNSF on operational process improvements and have pre-defined economic arrangements that enable expedited responsiveness to customer rate requests. The program combines shortlines’ customized service with BNSF’s network that spans 32,500 miles across 28 U.S. states and three Canadian provinces.
The new members are R.J. Corman’s Tennessee Terminal in Memphis and OmniTRAX’s Central Texas & Colorado River. R. J. Corman Railroad Co. operates 19 short line railroads in 11 states. OmniTRAX is one of North America’s largest and fastest growing private railroad and transportation management companies.
“By adding RJ Corman – Memphis and OmniTRAX – CTXR, we’re expanding a program that pairs local expertise and relationships with BNSF’s broad network reach,” Tom Williams, BNSF executive vice president and chief marketing officer, said. “That combination helps create a more seamless experience for customers looking for efficient, reliable ways to move their products.”
Since launching in 2024, the program has improved interchange fluidity and growing traffic volume, and reduced car dwell. It also introduced economic development and growth initiatives.
