New York-based Siemens Mobility North America recently appointed Tobias Bauer as president and CEO, effective Monday.
“We’re delighted to name Tobias Bauer as CEO of Siemens Mobility North America,” Michael Peter, Siemens Mobility global CEO, said. “His proven track record of innovation, customer-focused growth, and experience across our business makes him uniquely suited to lead our operations in North America. Under his visionary leadership, we will strengthen our market position and transform mobility for operators and passengers across the United States and Canada.”
Bauer joined Siemens in 2004 and has held several leadership roles worldwide. Most recently, he was Siemens Mobility North America acting CEO and North American Rolling Stock division president. The division works on the development and delivery of advanced rail solutions from light rail and locomotives to trainsets and high-speed rail.
In his new role, Bauer will lead a team of more than 4,500 North American employees. He also will maintain his president of rolling stock role.
Siemens Mobility is a separately managed company of Siemens AG. It has manufacturing facilities in California, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, and service locations throughout the United States and Canada. The company has more than 2,000 American rail suppliers.
