Car buyers and sellers in San Jose, California, have a new, safer means of pursuing their purchases, under the launch of a new program by AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah known as AAA CarConnect.

Under the new service, AAA Auto Advisors provide guidance for both buyers and sellers while AAA gives a 60+ point used car inspection, handles DMV service paperwork, and manages a secure means of fund transaction. In a major safety gain, the service even gives the two parties a neutral location to meet up. The new service is launching in time for the holidays, allowing for quicker, more secure movement of a major seasonal purchase.

“As a leader in safety, we want to provide assistance to our Members and the general public in the used-car-buying market, an area of the automotive industry historically rife with safety and trust challenges,” Tim Condon, AAA Northern California president and CEO, said. “96 percent of people say trust is missing in the used car buying and selling process. Through AAA CarConnect, we want to remove those barriers and provide an easy and safe way for buyers and sellers to connect and enable secure payments while also providing the impartial trust and guidance that is the cornerstone of all of AAA services.”

The new program provides full transparency in vehicle quality and safety guidance throughout the whole process. It also cuts down on the headache associated with such processes–and even provides a 30-day warranty for qualified vehicles pursued through the service. AAA will also build on the service by offering financing through insurance and maintenance.

AAA plans to expand the program in 2018.
