Tesla, Inc. recently named Linda Johnson Rice, chairman and CEO of Johnson Publishing Company, and James Murdoch, CEO of 21st Century Fox, to the company’s board of directors.
Rice currently serves as CEO of Ebony Media Operations and as Chairman Emeritus of Ebony Media Holdings.
In addition to her roles as Johnson Publishing and Ebony, Rice also serves as a Trustee at the Art Institute of Chicago, President of the Chicago Public Library Board of Directors, a council member of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, and as a board member of the Northwestern Memorial Corporation.
Rice previously served on the boards of directors for a number of companies, including Bausch & Lomb, Continental Bank, Quaker Oats, Dial Corporation, MoneyGram and the Kimberly-Clark Company.
After two decades of serving various roles within the 21st Century Fox Corporation, including as Co-COO, Murdoch was named as the company’s chief executive in 2015.
Previously, Murdoch has served as Chairman of BSkyB, Sky Deutschland, and Sky Italia, all of which now comprise Sky, Inc.
Murdoch has worked to expand much of 21st Century Fox’s social initiatives including projects on environmental sustainability, natural resources, science, civic life, childhood health, and equal opportunity.
