The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has begun construction on the $621 million 2100 North freeway connection in Lehi in northwest Utah County.

The project will build a 2.8-mile-long freeway-to-freeway connection between Interstate 15 and Mountain View Corridor. Work will include 14 new bridges, nearly two miles of shared-use paths, new pedestrian bridges, and the realignment or reconstruction of two miles of existing trails.

“This project strengthens how communities connect to the rest of Utah,” UDOT Project Director Andrew Jordan said. “By linking Mountain View Corridor directly to I-15, we’re making it easier for residents to travel across the region. Whether that’s commuting to work, visiting family or heading out to enjoy everything the beautiful state of Utah has to offer.”

Once completed, the connection will save east-west commuters approximately 12 minutes in each direction during peak travel times, according to traffic engineers’ estimates. It also will reduce pressure on nearby routes.

Construction is expected to be completed in late 2028.

UDOT is investing nearly $1.4 billion to improve transportation in northwest Utah County. The agency opened a four-mile segment of Mountain View Corridor between 2100 North and Porter Rockwell Boulevard in December and the Pioneer Crossing Flex Lanes project is underway to improve east-west travel.
