Pennsylvania’s East Donegal Township in Lancaster County plans to invest $1.56 million in Transportation Infrastructure Investment Funds (TIIF) to make improvements at the intersection of State Route 441 and State Route 743.

“The TIIF investment for the intersection of Route 441 and 743 will be an investment in the future,” Scott Kingsboro, East Donegal Township township manager, said. The upgrades to the intersection will provide improvements to the infrastructure and safety components for the residents, employees, and visitors to East Donegal Township.”

Funding will be used for roadway improvements such as the installation of turning lanes, signal improvements, and stormwater management enhancements. Improvements are expected to improve traffic flow.

The project is the largest state-supported economic development in Lancaster County’s history.

The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) and Pennsylvania Department of Transportation administer the TIIF program.

“Gov. (Josh) Shapiro understands that strong communities are the foundation for new economic development, which is why we are proud to invest in our infrastructure,” DCED Secretary Rick Siger said. “These improvements will help East Donegal Township attract new businesses, increase safety, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents and visitors. We will continue to make investments that lift up our communities and attract new opportunity for our residents.”
