The Connecticut Department of Transportation will host the 2025 Transportation Showcase: Keeping Connecticut Moving on April 1 at the Connecticut Science Center.
The two-hour event will focus on the role public transportation plays in strengthening communities, supporting businesses and creating a more accessible, efficient and sustainable future, the department said.
“The Transportation Showcase will bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to explore how infrastructure investments will shape the future of transportation in Connecticut,” Connecticut Department of Transportation Bureau Chief of Public Transportation Benjamin Limmer said. “We look forward to exploring how enhanced public transit can drive economic growth, strengthen communities, and create a more sustainable and accessible Connecticut. Please join us for this impactful event.”
The event, which runs from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., will feature a keynote speech from Arthur Guzzetti, vice president of mobility and public policy for the American Public Transportation Association, as well as a panel session on the future of transportation in Connecticut. The panel will focus on federal funding, specific projects across the state like bus fleet electrification, microtransit and rail updates, and how those projects benefit various sectors across the state. The panel will be moderated by WNPR host Catherine Shen, and include Marian Andoh-Clarke, Director of Small Business Development, Hartford Chamber of Commerce; Garrett Eucalitto, Commissioner, Connecticut Department of Transportation; Matt Hart, Executive Director, Capital Region Council of Governments; and John Truscinski, Director of Resilience Planning, The Connecticut Institute for Resilience & Climate.
