Amcor, a developer and producer of packaging products, recently announced the expansion of its AmFiber Performance Paper packaging line in Europe.
AmFiber Performance Paper is a recyclable, high barrier, paper-based packaging material initially used for snacks and confectionery. It offers protection against oxygen and moisture.
The line will now include heat-sealed sachets for dry culinary and beverage products, including dried soups, drink powders, instant coffee, seasonings, and spices.
“AmFiber Performance Paper offers brands the best of both worlds,” said Ilya Syshchikov, AmFiber vice president of global product management. “From a technical point of view, it delivers high barrier and excellent machinability. From an environmental point of view, it’s PVDC-free, available in FSC-certified paper, and recyclable in most European countries.”
The company has also integrated a production line into its Amcor Flexibles Alzira plant in Spain to provide cold- and heat-seal AmFiber packaging. The airtight seals guarantee proper product protection.
Headquartered in Zurich, Amcor operates 220 locations in 43 countries, including 147 in the Americas region. It is focused on producing packaging manufactured using an increasing amount of recycled content that is increasingly lighter, recyclable, and reusable.
Amcor generated $15 billion in annual sales during fiscal year 2022.
