Through 2022, Ford is investing $11.5 billion in electric vehicles (EVs). As part of this commitment, the company is making it easier for customers to find places to recharge EVs.

“Among people who already own or want to purchase electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, 48 percent say that a lack of charging stations is one of their main concerns,” Ted Cannis, Ford director of global electrification, said. “By offering industry-leading charging access, we are dismantling those barriers, allowing more customers to confidently enjoy the benefits of owning an electric vehicle.”

Ford EVs will come standard with a Ford Mobile Charger capable of charging on a higher-voltage 240-volt electrical outlet. This will provide an approximate range of 22 miles per charging hour compared to three miles using a standard 120-volt electrical outlet.

Customers will have the option of choosing a Ford Connected Charge Station that will fully charge an EV, giving it an approximate average range of 32 miles per charging-hour.

Amazon Home Services will provide installation, and customers will be able to view price quotes and schedule an electrician online.

New vehicles also will come with two years access to the FordPass Charging Network, which includes more than 12,000 charging stations.
