The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) recently had administrators confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

Sean McMaster became the 22nd FHWA administrator. In this role, he will lead FHWA in the agency’s support of state and local governments’ design, construction and maintenance of the highway system and various federally and tribally owned lands.

Jonathan Morrison became the 17th NHTSA administrator. In this role, he will be responsible for leading the agency’s efforts to reduce injuries, deaths and economic losses caused by motor vehicle crashes through vehicle safety standards, research and educating the public.

Paul Roberti became the sixth PHMSA administrator. In this role, he will work to carry out the agency’s mission of protecting people and the environment by advancing the safe transportation of energy and other hazardous materials.

“Sean, Jonathan, and Paul are strong leaders who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the department,” U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said. “Their work will help us rebuild America’s infrastructure, protect families on the road, and unleash American energy. America is building again, and the expertise of our new administrators will allow us to execute President (Donald) Trump’s bold transportation agenda.”
