Atlanta-based JAS, a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions, recently completed its purchase of Netherlands-based International Airfreight Associates B.V. (IAA), a specialized air, ocean and road freight services provider.

The purchase enhances JAS’ share of the European logistics market and strengthens its global service portfolio.

“The acquisition of IAA strengthens the JAS global logistics portfolio and access to key markets, particularly in the time-critical perishable goods sector,” Marco Rebuffi, JAS CEO and president, said “We are proud to welcome IAA’s talented highly experienced team to JAS and are looking forward to delivering excellent service to our customers together.”

The companies signed a share purchase agreement in December. The combined company will offer expanded service offerings and a broad global network.

JAS provides solutions tailored to customers’ needs. Founded in Italy in 1978, it employs more than 7,000 people in more than 100 countries.

International Airfreight Associates B.V. specializes in managing time-sensitive perishable fresh goods, livestock shipments, and multimodal supply chain solutions. It has multiple offices and warehouses in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany, including in Amsterdam, Aalsmeer, Rotterdam, and Frankfurt, and employs nearly 100 people.

It is one of the top three International Air Transport Association forwarders at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
