Gov. Eric Holcomb and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) laid out a plan for more than 900 INDOT projects over the course of 2018, looking to invest more than $1 billion in the process.

It is part of the governor’s Next Level Roads Construction plan, and the end result could include more than 2,200 miles of road resurfaced, the rehabilitation or replacement of 613 bridges or culverts, 47 lane miles added, chip sealing of more than 1,500 lane miles, and 52 safety improvement projects throughout the state. Already, officials have broken ground on the $143 million expansion of I-65.

“Indiana is one of only a handful of states with a fully funded, long-term infrastructure plan,” Holcomb said. “And, we’re putting it to good use, not just for our roads and bridges—but also to attract more job creators to move and grow in our state. Working hand-in-hand with local communities, Indiana is taking care of what we have, finishing what we started and planning for the future.”

To support all of this, INDOT has created an interactive map for users to determine which projects might affect their routes in the years to come. It is based within the Google Maps system with specific focus on information regarding local projects that are getting federal funds and on those awarded through the state’s Community Crossings program.
