The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) recently began a construction season that includes 176 new projects worth $2.8 billion and 57 projects currently underway.
“Every project we start is about taking care of the system Utahns rely on every day,” UDOT Deputy Director Lisa Wilson said. “From fixing key routes and preserving bridges to building trails and supporting transit, this work is focused on making travel safer, more reliable and more accessible. At the end of the day, our goal is simple: help people get where they’re going safely.”
Projects include those that will ease bottlenecks in busy corridors, improve safety on busy highways and intersections, fix worn pavement and bridges, and expand options for pedestrians, bicyclists and transit.
Some of the larger projects include:
The continuation of the $385 million 1800 North and I-15 intersection project in Davis County. Work will include building a new interchange and an overpass, and the widening of 1800 North up to 2000 West. Work is expected to end in late 2027.
The continuation of the $361 million 5600 South in Roy and Riverdale project in Weber County. Work includes building a new interchange and widening 5600 South between I-15 and 3500 West from three to five lanes. Construction is expected to end this fall.
