The draft outlines investments in the state’s multimodal transportation system and includes highway and bridge projects on the state highway system made up of all Interstate, U.S., and Iowa signed routes.

Specific projects include:

The Iowa Department of Transportation presented the draft to the Iowa Transportation Commission on Tuesday. The program is presented annually to the commission that will vote to approve it.

Over the last 19 years, the number of bridges in poor condition on the state highway system decreased from 256 to 26.
