Maergo, a leader in logistics and technology, announced Tuesday it would form a partnership with Shipium, a premium shipping platform for e-commerce retailers.
The two companies said the partnership would improve delivery speed and accuracy for retailers. Maergo is a leader in providing 2-3 package shipping through parcel delivery optimization, while Shipium helps retailers address “the Prime problem” by modernizing their shipping software stack, the companies said.
“We provide a compelling service that helps retailers modernize their delivery experience to consumers,” said Peter Sheldon, SVP of Strategy and Growth of Maergo. “Shipium makes network changes immediate, solving the time-to-value problem that other shipping systems create.”
Partnering will help retailers realize cost savings and improved delivery. Retailers who use both firms see their costs reduced by an average of 19 percent while delivery speed and accuracy improve, the companies said.
“It’s essential that the most important retailers diversify their carriers away from a single-source strategy,” said Jason Murray, CEO of Shipium. “It’s the only way to pull in progressive partners like Maergo, who are the real unlock to competing in today’s competitive e-commerce landscape. We’re excited to help bring Maergo’s leading service to the industry when they need it most.”
The companies said that retailers stuck with legacy shipping solutions experience poor time-to-value getting progressive carriers up and running. The partnership between Maergo and Shipium will speed up getting carriers integrated into shipping systems, moving them from an average of 1.2 carriers to an average of 6.4 carriers in a single quarter, Shipium officials said.
