The Idaho Transportation Board approved the recommended fiscal years 2023-2029 Idaho Transportation Investment Program at its September meeting.

The seven-year investment plan is updated and approved annually. It includes summarized preliminary engineering, right-of-way acquisition, and construction costs for each project and includes the Highways, Public Transportation, and Aeronautics programs.

The Spalding Bridge on U.S. Highway 95 will be replaced for $193 million, scheduled for 2025. The new bridge will accommodate a four-lane divided highway with wide shoulders.

The Arrow Bridge on U.S. Highway 12 east of Spalding will be replaced with a wider structure, scheduled for 2025, for $138 million.

The $27 million Clearwater Memorial Bridge project will include a new bridge deck with wider lanes, shoulders, and sidewalks.

Earlier this year, regional outreach workshops were held to seek public comments and requests. Public feedback also was sought via the department’s social media channels.

“Involving the Idaho road user and taxpayer in our transportation-planning process provides the most thorough document that combines public input and our own engineering guidance to create a comprehensive plan that best fits community needs across the state,” Idaho Transportation Board Chairman Bill Moad said.

The plan will be submitted to the Federal Highway Administration for approval.
