Via, a company that uses technology to power public mobility systems, recently purchased Remix, a collaborative mapping platform for transportation planning and decision-making.

The purchase allows the company to offer multimodal planning, scheduling, and operating for transit, paratransit, and school buses. It also will provide customers with a flexible set of TransitTech solutions to meet their needs.

Via invented the TransitTech category, which provides the digital infrastructure for autonomous vehicles; public mobility systems; and optimizes networks of buses, shuttles, school buses, and wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

“We have always held the Remix product in the highest regard, and are delighted to be working with Tiffany, Dan, and their exceptional team,” Via co-founders Daniel Ramot and Oren Shoval said. “We share a vision for working alongside our partners to create transit systems that are equitable, accessible, and efficient for riders and cities alike. Together, we have ambitious plans to invest in and expand the Remix product suite to offer enhanced capabilities for planning and bus scheduling and operations.”

San Francisco-based Remix works with more than 350 local governments in 22 countries to design transportation systems serving more than 240 million people.

Via works with more than 200 partners in 24 countries to provide efficient, accessible, and cost-effective transit solutions.
