BNSF Railway said it had expanded its partnership with risk monitoring and cargo security company, Overhaul.

The companies said the exclusive partnership will build on nearly a decade of collaboration to strengthen supply chain security for the railway’s customers. Officials said the partnership connects BNSF’s networkwide security technology and police department with Overhaul’s risk intelligence teams to identify potential risks earlier and improve coordination and support for the secure movement of freight across BNSF’s network. BNSF will serve as Overhaul’s exclusive railroad partner, giving its customers access to a level of integrated shipment intelligence and security coordination. Overhaul maintains a 99.9 percent shipment protection rate for monitored freight, the company said.

“Working with Overhaul’s verified intelligence advances our prevention-first approach to supply chain security,” Chief Special Agent and Assistant Vice President of BNSF Police Will Johnson said. “Our teams have built a deep foundation of trust over the years, and this partnership strengthens our ability to take informed action and uphold rail as the most secure mode of freight transportation by land.”

The partnership will integrate Overhaul’s services with BNSF’s police department through a direct Overhaul-to-BNSF integration. Additionally, the two companies will share verified intelligence, enabling earlier intervention, more strategic agent deployment, and seamless coordination with multiple jurisdictions; and will work together to coordinate multistate response with special agents coordinating with local, state, and federal partners.

“Cargo crime has become increasingly organized and data-driven, which means prevention requires coordinated intelligence and a trusted response framework,” Overhaul co-founder and CEO Barry Conlon said. “Overhaul continues to work closely with BNSF to maintain a shared mission to protect freight in motion by identifying risks earlier, validating threats faster, and deploying preventative action long before cargo loss occurs.”
