The Auto Care Association recently formalized its relationship with a Mexico-based civil association by signing a memorandum of understanding at the annual Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas with the goal of expanding business opportunities.
The Mexican association, the Asociación Nacional de Representantes, Importadores y Distribuidores de Refacciones y Accesorios para Automóviles, A.C. (ARIDRA), represents distributors, importers, manufacturers and representatives of automobile spare parts and accessories.
The memorandum establishes several goals including building awareness of each other’s markets, promoting international trade and investment between the associations’ members, and encouraging attendance at trade shows, international delegations and other activities of mutual interest.
“We are pleased to formalize our relationship with ARIDRA, which will increase our opportunities to collaborate and expand new business opportunities for our members in the Mexican market,” Bill Hanvey, president and CEO of Auto Care Association, said. “ARIDRA will play a vital role in initiating the process to adopt and implement the Auto Care Association’s technology standards in Mexico, through training and educational sessions with regional partners that will be key to expanding new business opportunities for our members.”
The Auto Care Association, representing the $368 billion plus auto care industry, and ARIDRA also agreed to create stronger cooperation and coordination between the United States and Mexico through marketing, technology standards and other methods.
