Volvo Trucks North America said it is leading the heavy-duty truck electrification transition with more than 700 Volvo VNR Electric trucks on the road in the United States and Canada.
According to the company, the vehicles have logged more than 20 million zero-tailpipe emission miles, eliminating an estimated 34,000 metric tons of CO2 – the equivalent of taking more than 7,000 passenger cars off the roads for a year. Part of the company’s global heavy duty truck electrification effort, the company said its position as the global leader for the electromobility transition has resulted in a 30 percent share in the North American electric truck segment for the past five years. Since, 2019, the company has delivered more than 5,700 electric vehicles across 50 countries, which have driven 250 million kilometers.

In July 2021, TEC Equipment – Fontana became the first Volvo Trucks Certified EV Dealer. Since then, the network has expanded to 83 certified locations across 33 U.S. states and four Canadian provinces. Another 13 locations are currently in the certification pipeline, the company said.
