ITS America, the nation’s leading advocate for the technological modernization of U.S. transportation systems, recently announced the development of its new public policy mission in fostering public-private partnerships as well as the alignment of its senior leadership team to execute that goal.

“ITS America has rallied together behind this public policy mission at a critical time when the rubber is literally hitting the road for intelligent transportation,” ITS America President and CEO Regina Hopper said. “Our collective focus on public-private collaboration to advance and accelerate the deployment of intelligent transportation solutions at scale is a unifying rallying cry of broad importance to the nation.”

The announcement comes on the heels of the organization’s re-visioning process for its membership, which represents interests and expertise from private companies and public research institutions to state and city Department of Transportation leaders. ITS America also released a public policy roadmap that supports new and long-term funding for tech-driven transportation infrastructure, tax reform for the Highway Trust Fund, and financing in President Donald Trump’s demand for increased investments in vehicle-to-infrastructure mobility and safety applications.

The new professional leadership team created to support the organization’s mission includes Steve Bayless as vice president of Regulatory Affairs and Public Policy; Jason Goldman as vice president of External Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement; Ron Thaniel as vice president of Legislative Affairs; Jeff Davis as senior vice president of Membership and Business Development; Mike Land as vice president of Programs; and Dan Ronan as vice president of Strategic Communications.

“As leaders in Washington and across the country make critical decisions about updating our nation’s infrastructure, investing in smart communities and setting policies relating to connected vehicles, we will be a voice of expertise and experience to advance U.S. leadership in this critical field and unlock all the promise intelligent transportation holds for our citizens and our economy,” Hopper said.
