The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) held this year’s second regional forum in White Plains, N.Y., on June 21, featuring 2,700 attendees and 190 exhibitors and reflected growing optimism in the industry.
“The energy and enthusiasm for business aviation was evident at this year’s White Plains Regional Forum,” Mike Nichols, NBAA vice president of operational excellence and professional development, said. “Exhibitors conducted significant business, attendees gained valuable insights from the education session content, and the mood projected outlook for the industry.”
The forum began with an overview of political challenges facing the industry. These challenges include the recent defeat of air traffic control privatization, access to airports and airspace, safety, enhancing professionalism and growing the workforce.
The overview was followed by a panel discussion on aviation careers.
The forum also featured presentations on best practices for complying with government investigative demands, why pilots and technicians fail to follow proper procedure, business aircraft sales, and cybersecurity.
The NBAA will hold a regional forum in San Jose, Calif., on Sept. 6.
Also on Thursday, the NBAA announced 48 recipients of the 2018 Flight Attendants/Flight Technicians Scholarship.
The winners will be recognized this week at the Flight Attendants/Flight Technicians Conference in St. Paul, Minn.
