The Carnival Cruise Line will be offering more short cruises from the Port of New Orleans in 2019, with the arrival of the Carnival Valor.

The Carnival Valor is a 2,974 passenger vessel that offers four- and five-day cruises. It will be available from New Orleans year-round. Those cruises will depart on Mondays and Saturdays, with ports of call in Cozumel and Progreso, for access to their various vacation excursions. Valor recently underwent renovations that added new restaurants, bars, and poolside, adults-only venues.

“The Port of New Orleans is thrilled to welcome Carnival Valor to the year-round cruise offerings from our vibrant and historical city,” Port of New Orleans President and CEO Brandy Christian said. “We value our long-time partnership with Carnival Cruise Line and we look forward to working together to continue to provide new and varied itineraries and a top-notch experience for our guests.”

The new addition will begin its journeys in May 2019, replacing the existing Carnival Triumph. With it comes a 10 percent increase in capacity for the company’s short cruise program. Another vessel will also enter the port to take over the existing seven-day schedule of Carnival Glory.
