Rockwell Collins recently introduced a new cybersecurity solution for rail providers aimed at reducing instances of cyberattacks on critical infrastructure.
Based on internationally-accepted best practices from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the International Standards Organization (ISO), Rockwell Collins’ new system utilizes the company’s existing high-availability private network and onsite or hosted cybersecurity centers to prevent and mitigate instances of a cyber attack.
According to Rockwell Collins, the solution also uses a phased approach for implementation including assessments, hardening, monitoring and maintaining current systems for rail organizations.
“We know that many critical infrastructure organizations are working to fend off cyberattacks every day, including those in the rail industry,” Ken Schrader, vice president of Surface Transportation and Critical Infrastructure Systems for Rockwell Collins, said. “We’ve designed our solutions to reduce the risk and impact of cyberattacks, helping ensure passenger safety, securing rail infrastructure and helping to enable business continuity.”
