The second-generation Nissan Leaf will soon begin making public appearances at National Drive Electric Week events in eight different cities across the country.
From Sept. 9 to 16 the new Leaf will be on display in Seattle, Washington; San Diego, California; Alpharetta, Georgia; Bridgewater, New Jersey; Portland, Oregon; Los Angeles, California; Cupertino, California; and Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The newest Leaf’s technology package features Nissan’s ProPILOT Assist, which uses a series of cameras, radars, sensors, and electronic control modules to help drivers stay in the center of their lanes and maintain consistent vehicle speed. It also features Nissan’s e-Pedal, a technology that allows drivers to accelerate, decelerate, and stop with only one pedal.
According to Nissan, current Leaf owners will be offered a chance to sign up for a behind-the-wheel opportunity with the newest version of the vehicle just weeks after it is unveiled. Owners must present a key fob and register to test drive while visiting one of the displays in September.
“The timing couldn’t be better,” Brian Maragno, director of Electronic Vehicle Marketing and Sales Strategy, said. “Bringing LEAF to some of the most enthusiastic EV advocates just days after its global debut is the perfect way to kick things off for this technology-packed car. We can’t wait to show off the all-new LEAF to electric vehicle owners and enthusiasts during National Drive Electric Week.”
