Telematics company FleetUp recently announced it will be offering the industry’s first Voice Over HOS (VoHOS) solution integrated into its U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)-certified Hours of Service (HOS) app.

The app alerts drivers to possible HOS infractions and provides instructions on how to avoid them. In addition, fleet managers will have access to the data and can certify Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.

With the system, drivers will not be required to learn new equipment.

“FleetUp HOS was designed with safety, simplicity and ease of use in mind, not just for those managing the data, but also for the drivers who are on the forefront of being responsible for complying with ELD regulations,” Ezra Kwak, chief technology officer at FleetUp, said. “As a FMSCA-certified platform, HOS violations can be eliminated when complying with Voice Assistance commands within the app.”

The app is available in English and Spanish, and soon French, Portuguese and Vietnamese.

The app is included in all FleetUp Fleet Management or Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) subscriptions and can be purchased from the Google Play. It will be available from the Apple AppStore later this summer.

The app is designed to help drivers comply with FMCSA’s ELD rule.
