American Trucking Associations (ATA) recently announced it renewed it ATA Featured Product agreement with Lytx, a fleet management and fleet safety solutions company.

Lytx’s DriveCam safety program uses video and audio footage of road incidents combined with data analysis to prevent future incidents. DriveCam has reduced road incidents by between 60 percent and 80 percent.

The device is mounted on a dashboard and measures behaviors including cornering, hard breaking and hard accelerating.

The technology has been used by private organizations and government agencies including the United States Marines, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. State Department.

“At Lytx, we’re known for our market-leading DriveCam video safety program, helping our clients optimize fleet safety, efficiency and productivity, by delivering creative solutions to solve their business challenges,” Kara Kerker, Lytx executive vice president and chief marketing officer, said. “Partnering with the ATA – the voice of the industry – results in our ability to consistently deliver better value to our trucking clients.”

American Trucking Associations is actively working to improve safety and this is why it is partnering with Lytx, ATA said.

In June, the U.S. Army began testing DriveCam in South Korea. The 90-day test will record driver behaviors for individuals driving government and military vehicles.
