The Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT) announced it will spend $481 million for its 2018 State Highway System Program.

A total of one hundred highway and bridge projects are scheduled.

Funds from The Build Nebraska Act will be used to improvement US-30.

NDOT launched this week. It was formed by combining the Department of Roads and the Department of Aeronautics. The bill forming NDOT was signed by Gov. Pete Ricketts (R) in May.

“This merger our infrastructure-focused agencies is creating efficiencies, which will allow us to put more money into runways and roads without sacrificing jobs,” Ricketts said at the launch. “With a unified agency focused on Nebraska’s transportation needs, this team will be able to take a long-term, more strategic view toward building the 21st-century infrastructure we need to grow Nebraska.”
