The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA)’s Air Traffic Services (ATS) recently released a guide addressing ATS frequently asked questions.
The guide, Pocket Reference for Flight Planning in the U.S. National Airspace System, simplifies the filing and updating flight plan process, NBAA ATS Project Manager Jim McClay said.
“We wanted to create something that would be easy to keep in the cockpit,” McClay said. “If pilots get into trouble, they can pull it out, look it over and say, ‘What can I do here based on what NBAA suggests?’”
The guide will be distributed at industry events and can also be downloaded as a PDF.
Questions are broken into four categories: filing flight plans, route selection, responding to Expect Departure Clearance Time, and what to do when there are departure delays.
Questions are answered by Federal Aviation Administration Air Traffic Control System Command Center and NBAA ATS staff.
NBAA also recently announced the recipients of this year’s Flight Attendants/Flight Technicians Scholarship at its annual conference.
The scholarships are intended to promote business aviation careers and professional development.
The 34 recipients were chosen by a committee and funds were donated by member companies.
NBAA represents more than 11,000 business and offers more than 100 products and services.
