The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) recently released the schedule for the NextGen Bus Network that launches on April 18.
Riders are encouraged to check their specific routes before April 18 and to use the MARTA Trip Planner to plan their future trips. The planner allows riders to see exactly how their routes will change.
“We are excited to reach this milestone and provide our riders with the tools they need to navigate the new network,” Jonathan Hunt, MARTA interim general manager and CEO, said. “The NextGen Bus Network is a generational change for transit in Atlanta. By tripling the number of routes with 15-minute frequency, and ensuring that is consistent all day, not just during rush hour, we are delivering a bus network that is smarter, faster, and more reliable for all our customers.”
The NextGen Bus Network is MARTA’s most significant bus service redesign and prioritizes frequency and accessibility to ensure the bus system remains a competitive and viable choice for all residents.
The service will operate seven days a week to provide more reliability during evening and weekend hours and reduce confusion. Routes now provide more direct access to major job centers, grocery stores, and health care facilities.
