OmniTRAX co-CEO Piacente retiring, Tanner to assume full company leadership

OmniTRAX Co-CEO Dean Piacente

Denver, Colorado-based OmniTRAX, a private infrastructure company, recently announced that co-CEO Dean Piacente will be retiring, effective Dec. 31. Co-CEO Colby Tanner will assume full leadership of the company on Jan. 1 in a planned leadership succession.

“I’m extremely proud of what the team has accomplished,” Piacente said. “Over the past five years, OmniTRAX has grown nearly 60 percent while attracting $5 billion of Fortune 500 company structures to the rail network. The strategic additions of new railroads, ports, industrial parks, and partners position OmniTRAX well for sustained growth. Our board has been invaluable to our continued network growth, and I’m excited to build on that momentum and provide Colby and the team with the resources to thrive.”

Piacente became CEO on Feb. 1, 2021. In this role, he managed the daily operations of the company’s railroads, terminal services, transload services, and industrial development. Also during his time as CEO, the company achieved an operational efficiency best among peers and set company records for service and safety.

Piacente will serve on the board of directors and provide his expertise to support the company’s east region growth strategy.

OmniTRAX provides intermodal and industrial switching operations to railroads, ports and industrial companies.
