Foss Maritime recently announced that Grant Johnson will serve as vice president of Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE), overseeing the growth and development of the department.
“We were impressed by Grant’s keen personal interest in providing improved safety for people and the environment, as evident in his work throughout the maritime industry,” Foss Maritime President and CEO John Parrott said. “His experience, expertise and working knowledge are just what we need to continue to build on our promise and reputation for being ‘Always Safe. Always Ready.’”
Johnson previously served in several executive roles for BP and for international energy services provider TechnipFMC.
He also serves on the boards of the Coast Guard’s Offshore Operators Committee’s Marine Transportation and Security Committee and National Offshore Safety Advisory Committee.
Foss has one of the largest fleets of barges and tugs on the U.S. West Coast and operates in every major West Coast port.
Earlier this year, Foss released the construction video the tugboat Nicole Foss at the company’s Rainier Shipyard.
Nicole Foss is the company’s third of three Arctic-Class tugboats and will enter service later this year. The other two tugs, the Denise Foss and the Michele Foss, are complete and in service.
The tugs measure 132-feet long and feature ice-strengthened hulls and are rated at 7,268 horsepower.
