Ohio-based Woolpert, an architecture, engineering, and geospatial firm, and Florida-based RS&H JV, an architecture, engineering and consulting firm, recently completed the design for a new Logistics Readiness Complex at Grissom Air Reserve Base in Indiana.
The complex will house the 434th Logistics Readiness Squadron and will merge under one roof functions that are currently carried out in six separate facilities.
“Under this contract, our team was tasked with descoping and value-engineering the project and working with the client to optimize the scope, as well as streamlining the LRC’s design, so that this vital project could finally be awarded and put into motion,” Rebecca Knolle, Woolpert-RS&H project manager, said. “Ultimately, this contract led to the successful award of a construction contract—a significant milestone for a project that has experienced procurement challenges prior to Woolpert-RS&H JV’s involvement.”
The firms provided full design services, and also are currently serving contracts for the USACE Norfolk, Louisville, Baltimore, and Japan Districts, as well as the Air Force Civil Engineer Center.
Construction will begin later this year.
Woolpert serves public, private, and government clients worldwide. It employs more than 2,700 people in more than 60 offices on five continents.
RS&H has worked the expansion of the U.S. highway network, among other projects.
