ASA swears in new chairman, board members

The Automotive Service Association (ASA) recently elected a new board of directors and chairman at its annual meeting.

They were sworn in at the end of the three-day event and will serve a two-year term.

Roy Schnepper was elected as chairman and Ed Cushman as chairman-elect. Frederick Hules II was named general director.

Three members were re-elected for a second term: Scott Benavidez, Bob Wills and John Cochrane.

Darrell Amberson will serve a second consecutive term as immediate past chairman.

Donny Seyfer resigned as immediate past chairman to serve as an ASA training consultant.

Bill Moss was re-appointed as secretary/treasurer for a one-year term.

ASA President and Executive Director Dan Risley serves on the board in an ex-officio capacity.

“The Annual Meeting is always an exciting time of the year as it provides us an opportunity to recognize the efforts of our volunteers, who tirelessly give back to the industry,” Risley said. “The meeting also helps set the stage for the remainder of the year as we establish direction and priorities to advance ASA.”

At the meeting, awards also were presented to two ASA members, April Hernandez and Bob Wills, for their commitment, service and achievements.

AutoZone and Federated Insurance were among the meeting’s sponsors.
