ChargePoint, a networked electric vehicles (EVs) charging solutions provider, and LG Electronics (LG), a commercial displays, robots and electric vehicle charging stations provider, recently formed a strategic partnership aimed at future innovations in EV charging.

The goal is to offer a competitive package for public sector infrastructure projects.

The companies will offer commercial charging solutions beginning later this summer using ChargePoint’s charger management software and LG’s EV charging hardware.

The companies also are exploring opportunities that would allow LG to bolster ChargePoint’s network of more than 306,000 charging ports, and would allow ChargePoint’s customers to benefit from LG’s EV chargers in instances where ChargePoint does not offer an ideal hardware solution. It also will allow LG to elevate its position and reputation in the EV charger market.

Future collaboration could include chargers with LG’s digital-out-of-home advertising platform, combining ChargePoint EV charging solutions with LG energy storage systems, and integrating the LG ThinQ smart home platform with ChargePoint’s Home Flex residential charger.

California-based ChargePoint provides a cloud subscription platform and charging hardware that include options for every multiple charging scenarios.

The Illinois-based LG Business Solutions USA Business Solutions division provides business-to-business technology solutions tailored to the particular needs of business environments.
