Four transportation advocacy organizations recently endorsed the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association’s (IBTTA) new global road safety campaign.
The campaign, Be Safe Together, aims to emphasize to drivers that little choices can make a real difference in others’ lives.
“At IBTTA, we recognize that road safety is both a global imperative and a community-based activity that requires concerted efforts from all road users,” Patrick Jones, IBTTA executive director and CEO said. “I am grateful for the support of our international partners. This collaboration underscores our commitment to save lives by encouraging all road users to use empathy and be safe together.”
The organizations endorsing the plan are the European Association of Tolled Motorway, Bridge and Tunnel Concessionaires, a network of more than 51,331 miles of toll motorways, bridges and tunnels across 18 member countries; the International Road Federation, a global, independent, not-for-profit organization headquartered Switzerland; the World Road Association, a global forum for exchanging knowledge and experience on roads, road transport policies and practices; and Project Every Day Without A Road Death, a platform for showcasing good practice in road safety in the United Kingdom.
The organizations will participate in IBTTA’s Global Road Safety Week being held from June 24-28.
