The second Smart and Sustainable Mobility Showcase, which highlights cutting-edge innovations shaping the future of transportation, technology, and equipment, was held on Monday at Navy Yard in South Philadelphia.
This year’s event highlighted technology companies specializing in artificial intelligence, data for transit authorities, safety, and fleet managers. Featured technologies included electric school buses and street sweepers, and battery electric transit buses.
The Philadelphia Industrial Development Corp., the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), the City of Philadelphia, and the Québec government office in New York hosted the event.
“After the success of last year’s event, we are excited to once again partner with the City of Philadelphia and the Québec government office in New York to highlight innovations driving sustainability in the transportation industry,” SEPTA General Manager and CEO Leslie S. Richards said. “Cultivating these relationships locally aids in achieving the goals outlines in SEPTA Forward, while keeping the Authority at the forefront of innovation and technology in the transit industry.”
Philadelphia displayed vehicles from its fleet, and Québec displayed the latest innovations in transportation, technology and equipment.
The purpose of the event was to build relationships that can spur investment and create jobs in Philadelphia.
The event was open to the public and industry professionals.
