The Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) recently held a groundbreaking ceremony on a three-bay maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City.
The new, more than 80,000-square-foot hangar and warehouse space will house AAR, a aviation services provider, and will allow the company to support commercial and government operators, Maintenance, repair, and overhaul companies, and original equipment manufacturers.
“This groundbreaking marks the culmination of a visionary journey, over 4 years in the making” Grayson Ardies, ODAA executive director, said. “The future Will Rogers World Airport Hangar 4 stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication of our policy makers and the monumental legislative investment they’ve championed. It’s a tangible symbol of progress, innovation, and the limitless potential of our aerospace industry here in Oklahoma.”
The project is in collaboration with AAR, JE Dunn, FSB and the OKC Airport Trust. It will create 200 additional full-time jobs.
“This momentous occasion is the product of years of hard work, collaboration, and foresight. It underscores the strength of our aerospace community and the limitless opportunities ahead,” state Sen. Paul Rosino (R- Oklahoma City) said.
More than 150 representatives state and local government, and partner organizations, AAR, and Alaska Airlines attended the ceremony.
