On Tuesday, supply chain application company Turvo Inc., announced it would be partnering with supply chain management company Oko to use data automation to make supply chain operations more streamlines.

Through the collaboration, the companies said 3 PLs and brokers can create orders and shipments by using attachments in an email, instead of through data entry. The collaborative effort would allow 3PLs and brokers to email, then post, secure and manage shipments from an intuitive collaborative platform.

“Bringing together Turvo and Oko creates a next-level shipping process that’s unmatched in the industry,” Brett Williams, SVP of sales at Turvo, said. “Combining our cloud-based, collaborative TMS with Oko’s ability to automate shipment creation from email brings increased operational efficiency and an improved customer experience.”

Officials said when done manually, the process of creating shipments, accepting bids and tendering for delivery, then tracking shipments can be complex and time-consuming. Using their collaborative platform, brokers and others can use data automation to create and manage shipments on behalf of shippers.

“By integrating Oko with Turvo, you can receive automated order and shipment creation for all customers, eliminating manual data entry without changing your current processes,” Sebastian Pedraza, CRO and Co-Founder of Oko, said.

The collaboration will provide a technology-driven solution to customers that will simplify shipping processes, increase efficiency and reduce costs, the companies said.

“The seamless integration between Oko and Turvo allows us to automate order and shipment creation for customers that are not EDI connected, eliminating the need for time-consuming manual data entry,” said Anna Shalapinin, director of project and systems administration at Genpro, a 3PL company that uses the integrated solution.
