The board of directors of Werner Enterprises, a transportation and logistics provider, recently appointed Nathan J. Meisgeier to serve as company president, effective Jan. 5.
Derek J. Leathers, the company’s chairman and CEO, recommended Meisgeier.
“Nathan’s vision will be key in bringing Werner’s DRIVESM strategy to bear, as Werner continues to lead from the front,” Leathers said. “Nathan has a reputation as a top legal mind within the transportation industry, serving as the chair(man) of the American Trucking Associations’ Legal Reform Advisory Committee, in addition to holding many other leadership positions within the industry. Nathan also has earned the respect of transportation CEOs and political leaders across the country.”
Meisgeier has worked for Werner since 2005 and has been a member of the executive team since 2016. He previously served as executive vice president and chief legal officer. Prior to joining Werner, Meisgeier worked at a Kansas City-based law firm.
He has degrees in accounting and economics, and graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School.
