South Carolina-based Novolex, a sustainable packaging company, recently introduced food packaging containers made with a minimum 10 percent post-consumer recycled content.
“We are proud to add to our growing number of products manufactured with recycled content,” Stephen Kapantais, Novolex director of technology for rigid plastics, said. “Sustainability is critical to the future of our industry, and we are committed to creating even more innovative products to reduce our impact on the environment and support the circular economy.”
The new products are manufactured by Novolex’s brand Waddington North America and include multi-use clamshells in a variety of custom shapes and sizes; transparent dessert cups in three sizes; BreakAway tamper-evident containers; and CakePak bases and lids.
The clear, multi-use clamshells feature a secure closure to keep food fresh. They can be used for loaf cakes, cookies and other foods.
Signature dessert cups are made with polyethylene terephthalate, a strong, lightweight, recyclable plastic.
Clear, stackable BreakAway tamper-evident containers feature a tamper-evident detail indicating when the top has been removed.
Clear CakePak bases and lids feature the patented EZ Release system, making containers easy to open and seal.
Novolex operates 56 manufacturing plants in North America and Europe, including two plastic film recycling facilities, and employs more than 10,000 people.
