The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) is looking for innovative transportation ideas, the department said Tuesday.
As part of its Transportation Innovation Program (TRIP), the NDDOT said it has invited all of its transportation-based contractors, consultants, suppliers, associations, tribes and local governments to submit ideas. TRIP is an ongoing program with annual solicitations and is sponsored by the NDDOT with funding assistance from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration.
“We are looking for ideas that are in the deployment and operational stage,” said Russ Buchholz, NDDOT innovation and facilities manager. “This will allow us to make informed decisions and implement selected ideas quickly.”
The innovative ideas should address all areas of transportation including bridges and structures, construction, operations and maintenance, roadway surfacing, planning, safety, transit, and service delivery, among others.
Parties interested in sending in ideas should present them to the NDDOT prior to Dec. 31, 2023. Ideas will be evaluated by the NDDOT TRIP Review team, and recommendations based on the submissions will be made to the NDDOT Executive Team.
