Wesco releases annual sustainability report, announces key company initiatives

Wesco International, a Pennsylvania-based business-to-business distribution, logistics services and supply chain solutions provider, recently released its annual sustainability report.

The report outlines the company’s progress toward the environmental, social and governance goals it set in the 2021 report and the key initiatives for advancing those goals.

“Twenty-twenty-two was a truly remarkable year, one in which we delivered record-setting financial performance while making progress against our ESG goals,” John Engel, Wesco chairman, president and CEO, said. “These achievements are a testament to the hard work, dedication and innovation of our employees, and we look forward to continuing our journey of building more value for all our stakeholders while contributing to a healthier planet.”

Company goals include achieving a 15 percent reduction in the total recordable incident rate, reducing landfill waste intensity by 15 percent in its United States and Canada locations, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent, and providing 425,000 hours of safety training and development to employees

The company has made progress toward its sustainability goals. It has reduced landfill waste intensity by 15 percent from the 2020 baseline.

In addition, the 15 percent reduction in incident rates has already been achieved.

Wesco employs approximately 20,000 people and operates approximately 800 branches, warehouses and sales offices worldwide.
