DHL Supply Chain announced Thursday it was expanding its footprint with a new 755,000-square-foot distribution center in Violet Township, Ohio.

The new facility, located near DHL Supply Chain’s U.S. headquarters in Westerville, Ohio, is expected to open in the second quarter of 2024 and create an estimated 200 jobs for the region. The expansion will bring DHL’s total Ohio foot print to more than 15 million square feet, and its total North American footprint to more than 161 million square feet.

DHL said the new facility will leverage robotics technology and automation to continue leading the industry in shipping and supply chain management. Additionally, the facility will feature sustainable building planning and construction including LED lighting with smart controls, electric vehicle charging infrastructure for commercial vehicles and cars, solar PV ready roofing, rainwater harvesting for landscape irrigation and using native plants for landscaping.
