E-commerce retailer shipping platform Shipium announced Monday it had entered into a partnership with CDL to provide service to companies in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
The partnership, the companies said, allows customers to diversify their network, use regional carriers like CDL, and grow their e-commerce business. CDL said it has seen an uptick in customer interest over the last several years due to e-commerce growth, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. With Shipium, CDL can bypass its legacy technologies that delay availability, and customers can turn CDL on in a matter of hours, not months, at all warehouses.
“Customers want CDL’s reliable service and competitive rates but are constantly blocked by old technology,” said Michael Curcio, Vice President of Business Development at CDL. “We love working with Shipium because we have the confidence that our customers can tap into our network immediately. Everybody wins.”
Officials said that customers who chose to use CDL and Shipium will see performance results related to cost, accuracy, and speed. Retailers on Shipium who diversified to include CDL in their carriers mix saw a 20 percent drop in shipping costs on average, Shipium officials said.
“Budgets are being crunched while customer experience is becoming a bigger priority. Shippers who move to regional carriers like CDL to diversify their volume will see dramatic cost improvements, while deliveries will be faster and more accurate, which will make for happier customers,” said Jason Murray, CEO of Shipium. “We are excited to be the modern way to utilize such an important carrier partner like CDL.”
