A group of 15 Republican governors recently signed the Operation Open Roads initiative, ensuring the free and fast flow of commerce.

The governors committed to implementing solutions that support supply chain efficiency, cut regulatory red tape, and increase market access. They also urged the Biden Administration to stop inflation inducing federal spending, end COVID-19 vaccine mandates on private businesses, suspend federal policies that deter American manufacturing, and lower commercial drivers license age requirements from 21 years old to 18 years old.

“This is a national crisis that requires coordination across all levels of government and between public and private partners,” Missouri Gov. Mike Parson said. “By signing this order and supporting this initiative, we are acknowledging the threat and working to mitigate the negative impacts on Missourians.”

Parsons also signed an executive order creating the Missouri Supply Chain Task Force to identify potential improvements and solutions to supply chain issues within the state. The task force also will work with surrounding states to maximize interstate coordination.

The Missouri Department of Transportation director and the Office of Workforce Development director will co-chair the task force.

The task force will dissolve on June 30. Any recommendations that require legislative changes will be expedited.
