Michigan State University recently created the MSU Mobility Advisory Council that met for the first time, virtually, on April 23.

The council is tasked with guiding the university’s vision for the future of mobility.

“This council will have a big role in helping us identify new projects as well as prioritize our mobility-related research and academic offerings, which is a core focus at Michigan State University,” Satish Udpa, MSU Mobility interim director and university distinguished professor of electrical and computer engineering, said. “We are grateful to all council members who have committed to dedicating time to this group; this council will be a truly valuable asset, and we look forward to the in-depth and thought-provoking conversations and insight that will be shared.”

The council is comprised of representatives from mobility-oriented organizations. Some companies have two designated members with participation based on availability.

Members include Clint Crook and Dan Garrison, Accenture; Bill Frykman, Ford City Solutions North America; David Gorsich and Denise Rizzo, U.S. Army Ground Vehicle Systems Center; Robert Hubbard, Cisco’s Smart Communities and Energy; Glenn Stevens Jr., MICHauto and Automotive and Mobility Initiatives for the Detroit Regional Chamber; Bethany Tabor and Jeff Myrom, CMS Energy; Paul Thomas, Bosch; and Frank Weith, Connected and Mobility Services and Ventic director, Volkswagen Group of America.
