On Monday, the White House released state-by-state fact sheets highlighting the need for investment in infrastructure in every state in the country.

The fact sheets outline what President Joe Biden is proposing in each state as part of the American Jobs Plan – from the number of bridges and miles of road in each state that are in poor condition, to the percentage of households without broadband, to the billions of dollars required for water infrastructure.

“These fact sheets are the latest in a series from the White House highlighting the benefits of the American Jobs Plan for communities. Additional issue-based fact sheets will be released in the coming days and weeks. Fact sheets on how the American Jobs Plan Advances Racial Equity and the American Jobs Plan Supports Rural America have been released in recent weeks,” the White House said in a statement. “The American Jobs Plan is an investment in America that will create millions of good jobs, rebuild our country’s infrastructure, and position the United States to out-compete China.”

The plan proposes spending $600 billion on the country’s transportation infrastructure, including $115 billion to repair roads and bridges.

However, Biden’s plan goes further in defining infrastructure. For example, in California, the fact sheet outlines the infrastructure needs in that state, including $50 billion to improve the state’s infrastructure and $111 billion for the state’s drinking water infrastructure. The plan also calls for spending $200 billion to increase the country’s housing supply, $100 billion to bring broadband to every family in America, $400 billion to help older adults and people with disabilities get the care and caregivers they need, $300 billion to retool and revitalize manufacturers and $18 billion to improve the Veterans Administration’s infrastructure.
