Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) officials said four infrastructure projects would receive $1.85 million via the Transportation Economic Development (TED) program.

“Infrastructure investments are a powerful way for us to bring more business to Minnesota,” MnDOT Commissioner Margaret Anderson Kelliher said. “Improving the geographic and funding balance provides statewide benefits.”

The Minnesota Legislature created the TED program in 2010 to support funding for infrastructure projects creating economic development opportunities, jobs, and improvements to statewide transportation systems.

IRRRB-Virginia is slated to receive $315,000 to aid in reconstructing left and right turn lanes from Highway 53 to P and H Road to accommodate oversize mining equipment accessing the Komatsu site; the City of Annandale has been allocated $400,000 to assist with the construction of two roundabouts on Highway 24 to serve a healthcare facility, future commercial development, and a school; Crow Wing County will receive $729,050 toward construction of a roundabout on Highway 210 to access a new commercial development in Crosby; and $409,950 has been allocated to Nicollet County that helps build two interchanges on Highway 14 between Mankato and New Ulm as part of a larger project to convert Highway 14 to four lanes for commerce and safety purposes.
