The Department of Transportation (DOT) said 15.5 million cloth facial coverings would be distributed to the nation’s transportation workforce to ensure personnel receive the needed support to execute duties.
“Transportation workers are on the frontlines of keeping our transportation systems operational during this public health emergency and their wellbeing and safety is paramount,” Transportation Secretary Elaine L. Chao said.
The masks secured by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) would be distributed over the coming weeks via the U.S. Postal Service.
